The Cardinal Hume is a Floribunda rose selected by Harkness in 1984; this variety has a red-purple colour. The blooms have a diameter of 7 cm and are double, full (31 petals) and exhale a strong scent. It's a quite vigorous plant that can reach a height of 90 cm but can also be grown as a small climber (185 cm). Quite disease-resistant, in autumn it produces rose hips. This variety can be used as a cut-flower (garden rose) but also as a ground cover or as a rootstock for other rose varieties. The foliage has a nice dark green, metallic colour.
