It is probably a hybrid between a Gallica rose and a Cinnamomea rose (Descemet c. 1815); its blooms are big, double, with streaks of dark pink, and with soft and corrugated petals. The flowers exhale a delicious fragrance and the plant in Autumn produces rose hips. It grows very bushy and nearly thornless.
