Meilland names this beautiful rose after Sir Paul McCartney, one of the Fab Four, and it surely makes a Superhit: with more than twenty international awards it's Meilland's most successful hybrid. The colour is unique, with an amaranth-pink on the inside and an indian-pink on the outside. The corolla is elegant, cupped, with a petal count of 20-25; a tall, elegant rose with an exquisite perfume of rose of May. The plant grows vigorous and with a healthy and very ornamental foliage to a height of about 100-110 cm. The blooms are quite large, 12 cm in diameter, excellent for cutting. Repeat-flowering and suitable for any use, it has achieved many awards, including the Gold Medal in Monza, Geneve, La Aia, Le Roeulx.
