Wild rose flower, simple, diameter of 6 cm, composed of 5 coppery pink petals with yellow center and visible stamens, delicately scented. The shape of the flower and its light fragrance attracts beneficial insects. Re-flowering; it grows up to 130cm in height and 120cm in width but can also be used as a low climber, for trellises and arches as by limiting the pruning it can go up to 250 cm in height. The foliage, similar to that of Alba roses, is quite resistant to frost, disease and fungi; it tolerates shady locations and in autumn produces rose hips. Selected by David Austin in 1992, it is dedicated to the Alexandra Rose Day, an event that raises funds in Great Britain for various charities.
